An introduction to Rotary Club Kapilvastu Mid Town

Background

Tilaurakot is the holy place where prince Siddhartha spent the first 29 years of his life in the court of the ancient Kapilvastu Sakya king Suddhodhana. This site is spread over an area of about 65 hectares on the eastern bank of the sacred Bhagiridha (present-day Banganga). However, recent excavations have suggested that this area may be spread over hundreds of hectares and it has been limited to the current area due to encroachment.Based on human civilization and values, we have established certain values and beliefs that should be seen in their different behavior and conduct, determining the difference between humans and animals. Limited needs and excessive desires have trapped people in unhealthy competition and conflict with each other. Social decency is also disappearing. While its negative impact is falling in the economic, social, cultural and political fields as well, human civilization is facing challenges such as poverty, backwardness, mismatch, disease, indulgence, Paul P., a businessman from the United States. Harris founded Rotary, inspired by the vision of fostering friendship and understanding of disappearing moral values and adhering to high ethics in personal life and business. In 1905, under his leadership, Rotary International was established. Its main aim and objective is to promote international friendship and understanding to achieve peace and prosperity through ethical business and selfless service in the humanitarian field. Guided by the mantra of “Service Above Self”, Rotary has mainly adopted the four avenues of service as its guiding principles. Rotary established on October 26, 2016 under the umbrella of Rotary International, Rotary Club of Chandrauta Kapilvastu and on the special initiative of Rotary Club of Butwal. The Club of Kapilvastu Mid Town has the following aims and objectives-

Objective

The purpose of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as the foundation of a dignified organization.

1. Taking the development of mutual respect or identity as an opportunity for service.
2. High ethics in business, recognition of useful professional qualities and respect for Rotarian’s profession as an opportunity for social service.
3. Applying the ideals of service to each Rotarian’s personal and community life.
